This was working until December and then it deactivated; stating that I need to purchase to activate, and rendiering 10 years of word documents to read and print only. I have the invoice, and I also have the product Key that entitles me to set up Office for the first time. I have been with Microsoft for 20 years. As you can imagine, I have 10 years of word documents that I cannot work on. I am a published author, and my website is being hindered by the problem, when I am being asked to write about the current crisis.

The computer store where you purchased your computer may be able to help. I’m not saying this is the case with you, but there are computer stores that will install a pirated copy of the software as a sales incentive. Is Microsoft Office listed as a separate line item on the invoice? What is the amount you paid for it?

Pirated copies of current versions of Office can work for long periods of time, but Microsoft will eventually figure it out and deactivate the software.
